Kanazawa has a tiny Ninja Weapons Museum -- basically the first floor of a house in the Nishi Chaya district. I'm an ageing gamer so none of the weapons displayed were new to me (though seeing real antiques was cool) but there was something I'd never heard about before.
The can do is a stealth lantern with a gyroscope system inside it to keep the candle upright. It is held by a handle at the back. Its light is only visible from the front, and it can be hidden by simply putting the lantern vertically on the ground. When the bakemono are gone, you just pick it up and resume exploring their lair...
Put it in your adventurer's equipment list, or at the very least in the thieves' guild members only shop!

I couldn't sleep last night, so I threw together an entry for the You Cannot Play This TTRPG Jam, in which you produce material for a fake RPG.
My submission is an Errata sheet for a fictional grimdark cyberpunk game. It's really dumb.
I am write a scenario for the TTRPG Liminal Horror. The system has a pretty good structure to write your own stuff but the community as some really great ressources as well.

@HeyeBodo @kensanata I like Tunnels & Trolls' mana-based system, with the various tricks for reducing spell costs. Using Strength for it was always weird, Wizards & Rogues were super-buff but needed to use a dagger because they'd spend it all & couldn't lift a sword. Later Wizardry stat works better.
RuneQuest spell skill rolls, & MP costs, are more like literature, but kinda annoying in play. You want magic to be more reliable.

@HeyeBodo Ideally: Put them in cages in the basement & they only get food if they game. College gaming groups were basically like that.
Practically: I can downgrade from campaign game to a one-shot or newbie-friendly system if we don't have a quorum of skilled players. So a weekly-scheduled game is maybe monthly, but some games happen in between.

#ttrpg question: scheduling drama appears to be a frequently encountered challenge of ttrpg groups. Campaigns sizzle out because the Real Life TM gets into the way, sessions have to be rescheduled until hardly anyone remembers what the game was actually about and frustrated GMs retreat into the realm of daydreaming about games instead of bringing actual games to the table.
What are your experiences with and solutions for ttrpg scheduling conflicts?

@dougmerritt I'm mostly immune to that. I bought TSR's "dragon dice" once in the '70s, they were shit. Then got some amazing GameScience® (RIP Lou Zocchi) dice at conventions, & have only bought 4 sets of those, or a bunch of d6 skull dice from Flying Buffalo.
I have 1 set of resin dice I now use sometimes, & 1 set of heavy metal dice which are more amusing than useful.
People endlessly buy dice because they get Chessex shit & can't ever be happy!
