Thursday Night AWBO S3: Post Apocalyptic Parenting
I decided to write out the intro to the next session. Maybe it made it easier to jump into the session. #ApocalypseWorld #TTRPG
oh, I haven't posted about my Glimmermark game two days ago: we had a death of one of the NPC henchmen. They were exploring the caverns under the Keep a bit more, and came across a giant toad that grabbed one of the hobbits with it's tongue.
that didn't actually kill the hobbit, but one of the ranged fighters in the back did, when I ruled that he'd hit the hobbit on a critical miss.
he of course rolled a 1.
and then 6 damage.
If you are looking for some grounded #DnD inspiration for #WorldBuilding you could do a lot worse than Cadfael. #DungeonsAndDragons #TTRPG

World’s Largest Dungeon
A tale of incompetence in 3 parts.
We repeatedly reported missing labels on the maps using various forms of communication over the last 11 months.
It’s like nobody on their team has ever looked at the maps to see all the unlabeled rooms in a fucking year.
This is the kind of quality control the “Traveller 5e” backers will learn about in a year when they start asking where the pdfs are.
Fantasy intrigue in Eversink. Time travel chaos across history. Investigative space opera at the edge of civilization.
Swords of the Serpentine, TimeWatch, and Ashen Stars are all part of the Roll Big or Go Home 2 Megabundle on Humble Bundle.
@leeleedee cool - please keep us posted (I occasionally run #ttrpg sessions for kids at a public library or for my kid & his friends).
Imagine a world with four physical genders, male, female, both, and neither, and where divine magic can bring the body into alignment with the spirit. Imagine the culture that would grow in a world where karma is real and all actions have consequences.
I've written it.

Tell me about the #ttrpg project(s) you are currently working on. Could be your new homebrew campaign, zine, hack for your home game, an adventure you intend to publish, a ttrpg inspired thing such as piece of art, sketch…
I've always had an interest in the #DnD #Ravenloft campaign setting, but earlier editions had one extant detail that turned me off: the idea of the Domains mushed together into a continent. With the wildly different cultures and technological levels that somehow did not begin to mutate through exchange, it made absolutely no sense to me. "The Dark Powers did it" was never a satifactory explanation to me. The "islands" that were introduced later on were more satisfactory to me.
The latest edition does away with the idea of the "Core" and turns every Domain into an island. This appeals to me. However, the book only presents 16 Domains (including the new Lovecraft-inspired Innsmouth). Gone are many of the odder, more interesting ones, like Bluetspur, the land of the Illithids and their insane God-Brain. They would be easy enough to bring back if one has access to earlier editions (especially 3e's Domains of Dread, published by White Wolf), I suppose, but I'm lazy.
I do plan to pick up the book at some point in the near future. #ttrpg
In our latest video we're taking a First Look at a pre-layout version of Blades of Powers, a Synth & Sorcery RPG by James M Spahn of Barrel Rider Games:

Rescue of Hommlet punchlist:
Done:
* State of dungeon tiles (250+ printed, basecoated)
* What 15mm minis did I have - their state (found, need painted)
To do:
* Set up 3D printer: more DragonLock clips. Lots. More.
* Wash/drybrush 250+ dungeon tiles
* Paint 50+ minis
* Basing for indiv vs troops
* Redo scenario to include dungeon. How does Woe react when Weal arrives?
* Figure out dungeon support since depth varies across map
* Figure out "fog of war" for dungeon
I own a very well-kept copy of #Pathfinder 2e's corebook. I don't want it. I would like to trade it for a reasonably-well-kept copy of the PF 1e core instead. Would anyone out there among the Mastodon #TTRPG hivemind be interested in such a trade?
Paizo is having to lay off people. Because their primary distributor went bankrupt and almost $10 million in stock is sitting there pending lawsuits.
I don’t really play Pathfinder anymore, but I still get their adventures and some world books because they are a company that employs good people. And one of the few union shops in the rpg industry.
Sucks to take a huge hit for no fault of their own.

I’ve come down with some virus (stupid immune system), so I am reading some old friends. These books are just classics.
One of the concepts in the scenario was "flattening" the scale of combat so that we're throwing lots of dice like Chainmail, and resolving combat using CM armor concepts - but maintaining the concept of hit points from OD&D. It's definitely a mashup, since this scenario has a lot of individuals accompanying troops.
Revisiting my "Rescue of Hommlet" rules with fresh eyes, correcting some things that were unclear. I know I have a lot of work to do with painting the 15mm figures for the scenario, as well as finish painting the 250-odd dungeon tiles and putting them together. I think I also need to print a metric ton of the clips as well!
A great article on the various Traveller/Cepheus Engine games.

Added some more features.
Allow the ochre jelly to show up.
Put in a feature where it auto accepts 1 character input. Makes it faster to move around.

Wer denkt ich wäre demzufolge gut vorbereitet, bitte auch daran denken, dass auf die erste Session auch sehr viel Vorbereitung auf das Ende der ersten "Staffel" schon gemacht sein sollte.

#ttrpg once again I'm asking for your ideas.
This time I'm looking for two-player role playing or story games that are NOT romance/ relationship oriented.
They should be one-shot-capable and work well for two players (not "best with 4 but you could take 2 PCs each" compromises) and have rules that explicitly support storytelling.
Bonus points for German language stuff.
🔄 boosting welcome
I should post about the Moathouse too. I created it for a wargaming/RPG scenario for GaryCon 2020, but with COVID, I never got a chance to run it. I've run it with friends, and we had a blast!
Posts that I wrote of the build process for both Moathouse and dungeon: https://chgowiz-games.etinerra.com/tag/rescue-of-hommlet/
The battle pic shows why I've decided to use 15mm figures. They fit much better to the scale of the model, which is 1" for 10ft.
